This branch of engineering includes basic principles and detailed analysis of various types of
equipments and systems for generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical energy.
The curriculum of this emerging branch contains the study of electronic devices and circuits that are involved
in measurement, instrumentation, control and protection of electrical equipments and conversion systems.
As an electrical engineer, an individual can get employment in electricity boards/utility companies as well
as engineers and managers. He is also responsible for installation, maintenance, operation of power handling
equipments and systems and so forth. The industries, who are manufacturing large electrical machines and equipments,
employ engineers in designing, production and testing. Many educational institutions and research establishments also
recruit electrical engineers for the post of faculty and scientists.
